Dr. Azar Tavakoli, DACM, MAOM, MPH, L.Ac., is a distinguished practitioner licensed by the Texas State Medical Board in Acupuncture and Herbology. She holds board certifications in Acupuncture & Chinese Herbology from the NCCAOM.
Dr. Tavakoli earned her Doctorate (DACM) and Master’s (MAOM) degrees in Acupuncture & Traditional Chinese Medicine from the American College of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine in Houston, Texas. She also holds a Master’s in Public Health/Epidemiology (MPH) from the University of Texas and a Bachelor’s in Biology with a minor in Psychology (BS) from the University of Houston.
She has notable experience working at NASA Johnson Space Center, conducting life science research. Dr. Tavakoli is well-regarded for her patient care and diagnostic skills, advocating for aligning with nature’s rhythms to achieve balance and promote natural healing.
In addition to her private practice at Zen Acupuncture Clinic, Dr. Tavakoli serves patients at the Employee Wellness Houston Methodist Hospital Outpatient Center and trains ACAOM students in clinical skills.
